AIESEC stands for 'Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales', which is French for the 'International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences'. It is the world's largest student-run organization with the primary goal of promoting international cooperation and leadership development among young people. AIESEC was founded in 1948, in the aftermath of World War II, aiming to contribute to peace and mutual understanding between nations through student exchange programs. Since then, AIESEC has evolved into a global network of students committed to personal development, cultural exchange, and addressing societal issues.
