The name ‘CenEka’ fits in the list of all the big (digital) platforms at Ghent University that took inspiration from classical antiquity. Only the spelling has changed in the course of two millenia: the C stands for Computer Sciences and the E for Electrical Engineering. We want to be a platform for all the civil engineering students who are interested in electronics, ICT and digital trends in general. We do this by organising numerous lectures and workshops and visiting companies, but also with more informal activities to enhance our team spirit. With our events we support the professional development of future engineers, offer them a look inside the corporate world and help them to build a network. Because we welcome everyone with open arms, CenEka does not ask a member’s fee. Every student interested can participate for free and enjoy the same benefits. At our biggest event, the EMECS Career & Technology fair, we bring you in contact with over 30 companies and provide continuous lectures on the state-of-the-art developments in the Flemish high-tech companies.
