Moeder Meetjesland! For years Meetjesland has been the missing link in the Ghent-based student life. Students from the Meetjesland noticed that they barely saw their old classmates and friends from the region. Since 2013 Moeder Meetjesland is back on the map as a student association, ready to unite these people. Students from the Meetjesland find one another back in Ghent and are able to escape from the textbooks along with their familiar and less familiar fellow regionals. You can always find us in the ‘Porter House’. On a weekly basis we organise activities for every student. Free kegs of beer, cocktail nights, beer bowling, barbecues, ‘Meetjesweekend’, poker nights, ‘cantusses’… but also cultural (gigs, brewery visits) and sports activities are part of the programme. In short, something for everyone and always at cheap, collegiate prices. A highlight is our infamous ‘Augustijncantus’, with Augustijn provided by our Meetjesland-based brewery Van Steenberghe.
