The ‘Nationalistische Studentenvereniging’ was founded in the seventies. As the name suggests our mission is to propagate nationalism in a principled and radical manner. As NSV! we resolutely choose for Flemish independence. Every people deserves its own nation. So does ours. Nationalism is more than mere separatism. As nationalists we want to preserve our uniqueness. We are not grey cosmopolitans who look the same all around the world - but we are neither individualists who just engage in loose relationships with their fellow man. For us the individual is grounded in different communities: the family, the people, the culture. To shape our members into idealistic, but critical thinkers of this ideological point of view, we organize various debates, lectures and discussions nights. Furthermore we defend our values and ideals by means of ludic or serious actions and manifestations. NSV! is also a student association in the pure sense of the word. ‘Cantusses’, evenings of singing, casually chatting in a bar with a beer hand, we do it all! In the first place, ‘studentikoziteit’ means comradery to us. What we don’t do is humiliating ‘schachten’ (freshman), dirty baptisms or terrible binge drinking. NSV! propagates its collegiate character in a stylish way.
