Slavia is the student association for and by Ghent University East European Languages and Cultures students. Together with the department we try to offer the students a wide range of activities and share with them our passion for the Eastern bloc. Each year we organise different festivities, like our annual ‘poushkine’ bar, where you can discover the Russian and East European drinking culture, an evening during which the vodka, rakija and zubrowka flow abundantly. Furthermore we have our trip to Eastern Europe, the gala and other collegiate activities. Twice per semester we publish ‘de Slaaf’, a magazine by and for students, filled with anecdotes and stories of the previous activities.
